The feat, which sees him tied with Paul Roos and Bruce Doull for career VFL/AFL games, has been surpassed by just nine others.
In a new feature, NMFC Lists, we take a look at some of the remarkable numbers Boomer has achieved over the past 18 years.
1. Despite playing most of his career as a midfielder, Harvey sits 78th overall on the AFL/VFL goal-kicking list with 425.
2. Harvey is only the sixth Kangaroo in an 88-year history, to still be playing at the age of 35.
The great Syd Barker, having spent two years out of the game returned to North Melbourne in 1927 for nine games as captain-coach. He was 39.
Elsewhere, Vic Cumberland played 10 games for St Kilda in 1920 at the tender age of 43.
3. In his first game in Round 22, 1996, Harvey had just 1 disposal against Richmond.
4. Harvey's first 30-possession game was in Round 7, 2000 in his 71st game. It's a mark he has achieved 48 times.
5. In Round 3, 2010, Harvey racked up 44 disposals against West Coast. Remarkably he had just 5 the week before against St Kilda despite more game-time. It was the perfect response to external criticism.
6. Harvey has kicked 5 goals in a game on two occasions; once against Port Adelaide at Football Park in 1998 and against Essendon just 11 weeks later. He polled three Brownlow votes against the Power (his first ever votes), and one for the Bombers' game.
7. At 172 centimetres, Harvey would have to be one of the smallest players ever to register a hit-out - in Round 17, 1999.
It's a game remembered more famously for a Wayne Carey/Matthew Lloyd shootout. Carey kicked 10 goals and Lloyd 7.
8. Harvey's ability to run and evade opponents is still a great feature of his game, but it was perhaps the Semi Final of 2000 where he was at his best. With 18 running bounces, Harvey cut a swathe through his Hawthorn opponents as North won by 10 points.
Over his career, he has 876 bounces to his name.
9. The number 29 has been made famous by Harvey at the Kangaroos, but Kevin Bartlett still holds the record for the most games played in the guernsey (403). Docker Matthew Pavlich is behind Harvey with 284.
Harvey is fourth in the goal-kickers list of those who've worn the 29. Bartlett, Pavlich and Fitzroy's Gary Wilson are ahead of him.
10. While he hasn't claimed the top mantle, Harvey is ranked 15th for career Brownlow Medal votes with 159. On 34 occasions he's been voted best-on-ground, and he's averaged close to half a vote a match over his career, an outstanding achievement.
11. Harvey was drafted by North Melbourne with selection 47 way back in 1995. At the time, North youngsters Mitch Wilkins and Taylor Garner were barely a year old.
12. North had a Harvey feel well before Brent ever arrived at the club. In 1948, his grandfather Bill played two games and was the 406th Shinboner.
