The impact of Andrew Swallow’s absence will be significant given the captain’s consistency, attack on the ball and on-field leadership.

On pure numbers he’s a huge out and leads the club in disposals, contested possessions, clearances and tackles so far this season.

A player of Swallow’s calibre is almost impossible to replace, but there’ll be several Kangaroos looking to fill the void.

Levi Greenwood is perhaps the most like-for-like option.  Despite only playing four games, he averages the most clearances and tackles of any player.

His hardness at the footy would be welcomed against the experienced Cats, while Ben Jacobs can also stake a claim for the inside-midfielder role having excelled at it for North Ballarat.

The 21-year-old has lined up just two times this season for North Melbourne and is yet to play on a Friday night during his career. The chance to shine in a blockbuster would be an exciting challenge.

Jordan Gysberts is no stranger to playing in big games. He racked up 30 disposals against the Bombers at the MCG back in 2011 on a Friday night for Melbourne and looks to be edging closer to his debut in the royal blue and white.

A proven ball-winner, Liam Anthony will also be holding hopes of a call-up.  The number four has struggled this season at AFL level with limited opportunities, but another 30-possession haul for the Roosters has him in contention.
