Mason Wood has had his fair share of media attention of late and it hasn't come in the way he may have expected.

The 19-year old has become a YouTube and NMFC.com.au video sensation after receiving a 'Falcon' (hit to the head with a football) via a targeted kick from rookie Ben Speight.  The video is soaring toward 30,000 views on North's YouTube channel and the new recruit isn't going to let his team-mate off scott free.

Despite his easy-going attitude and ability to have a laugh at his own expense, Wood is seeking revenge.

"I had only been in Utah for a couple of days and Speighty was already getting stuck into me. He better watch out because there will definitely be pay back and it's time for me to get my revenge now," he laughed.

"It was all meant in good fun. It definitely stung a bit when it happened but I think I handled it pretty well and kept going like a professional," Wood told NMFC.com.au.

Speaking at the club's first year camp in Tasmania, Wood said he's determined to have an impact on the field and doesn't want to be known only for his funny video for too long.

"Obviously I've got a lot of work to do before I get anywhere but I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to get a senior game. If I get the opportunity this year I'll be stoked but if I don't I'll just keep pushing myself and work on improving as a footballer.

"I've got three kilos to put on before I'm at my goal weight so I need to work on that, as well as getting my fitness up. I'm determined to get my name out there for my footy."

After a week long training camp in Hobart run by induction coach Brady Rawlings, Wood is even more settled into his new club and says it was a valuable experience for the group.

"We've had a pretty big week in Tassie. We climbed Mt Wellington and then did another full day of hiking in Coles Bay which was also really tough," he said.

"The camp is also a really good opportunity to bond, we've already got a lot closer as a group.  A few of the boys have opened up a lot over the week and we definitely bond over the fact it's so tough. It's like the hard yakka brings us closer together."

Wood said another enjoyable part of the trip was getting the opportunity to meet so many young Roos supporters at the Kanga Kids Club Clinic at North Hobart Oval.

"It's a lot of fun getting around all the kids and having a good day with them. There were over 150 here today which is awesome and when they're enthusiastic and enjoying themselves then we have a ball too.

"This was only the second footy clinic us first year's have done since arriving at the club and we all loved it."
