Vice-captain Jack Ziebell had his best performance of the year against the Western Bulldogs according to the coaches.

Ziebell collected 27 touches at Etihad Stadium, yet more so than the raw numbers, it was the influence of each disposal which earned the number seven the nine votes.

Ziebell frequently popped up to thwart a Bulldogs forward thrust or kick a crucial goal. His chase down tackle on Robert Murphy also swung the momentum, at a time where it looked like North was struggling to hit the scoreboard.

The nine votes puts him second on the Roos’ leader board, behind the captain Andrew Swallow.

Majak Daw received seven votes for his six goals. In his fourth game, it was Daw’s first multiple-goal outing.

Daw has also shot up to third on North’s goal-kicking tally. Lindsay Thomas is first on 25 and Drew Petrie is second on 16.

Petrie collected two votes for his three goals. In the post-match media conference, Brad Scott praised the forward’s role clearing space for Daw, calling him ‘the ultimate clubman’.

Sam Gibson and Ben Cunnington also polled for the second time this year; both have four votes to their name in 2013.
