It was a resounding win for our fantasy team this week, to go with a big victory for the club over the Swans. While the team was at the SCG getting the job done, our fantasy players were easily accounting for the Cats.

We managed to avoid the ruck carnage this weekend, with Aaron Sandilands and Todd Goldstein taking the field. Our captain Gary Ablett led from the front with 132, while we had seven others crack the fantasy ton: Scott Pendlbury, Nick Dal Santo (again), Dayne Beams, Jarrad McVeigh, Jimmy Bartel, Jack Gunston and our latest acquisition, Shaun Higgins (well done to all those who voted last week to bring him in!).

With one win and one loss, our team is in third place. We have the third highest points scored so far, and are improving each week.

On the block

With a season low score of 52 points, Tom Langdon may be approaching his sale point. Dale Thomas also looks like he's some way off his best, and with the Blues really struggling, he just isn't posting the scores we expected. Lance Franklin also hasn't really delivered, apart from last week, but we should hold him a little longer before making a decision here.

There's plenty to think about in terms of trades this week.

Next week's match-up

We play the Brisbane fan team this weekend, which sits on top of the ladder. As you might expect, the team is stacked with Lions (7 in total). This is a bit of a boon for us, with Pearce Hanley and Matthew Leuenberger (two of our opponent's uniques) slated for time on the sidelines and will have to be traded out.

Our midfields are similar, with both fielding Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams and Sandilands. We will have to counter the hot starts of David Swallow, Tom Rockliff and Dustin Martin, however.

Trades

With no immediate injury concerns, our team has the luxury of making some team improvements this week. After plugging a forward hole last week with Shaun Higgins, we should look to bring in a premium defender.

To free up cash, we have our eyes on Dale Thomas, who has failed to impress in his first month. He's only increased $16,000 in value, and is averaging just 74 points per game.

In defence, Tom Langdon has increased $136,000 and has seen his scoring decline, while Aaron Mullett has been inconsistent for an average of 75.

By downgrading Thomas to a rookie midfielder, we will free up enough cash to turn a defender into a premium option. Lodge your votes below.
