Steve Johnson will miss Friday night’s semi-final against North Melbourne after being ruled out with a foot injury.
The dangerous on-baller landed awkwardly during the second quarter of the Cats’ qualifying final loss against Hawthorn and is said to have aggravated the existing stress related injury.
Johnson has been under an injury cloud for much of the week and after struggling through training on Thursday was left out of Geelong’s 22.
The 31-year-old joins team-mate Hamish McIntosh on the sidelines, with the former Kangaroo out due to knee soreness.
Mitch Brown and Lincoln McCarthy have been named in the side as replacements.
