Season in review

In his second year at Arden Street, Wallace showed continued improvement in his quest to play AFL football.

After spending his debut season in the VFL reserves, Wallace earned a senior debut for North Ballarat in 2014, playing the entire season as its number one ruckman.

The 25-year-old regularly notched games with upwards of 40 hit-outs, continually learning the nuances of ruck-work and how to play differently against unique types of opponents.

At times Wallace was edged out of contests by his rivals, illustrating the need to work on his body work at contests. After working with the North Melbourne development coaches on improving the skill, he rebounded well towards the end of the season.

Armed with a new one year deal, signed halfway through 2014, his key focus over the pre-season will be to improve his game sense and fitness.

According to development manager Ben Dyer, it’s those two areas that will round out his game with his rucking already ‘very solid’.
