Historically AFL Fantasy coaches have filled their midfield spots with the latest crop of star kids – a handful of selections at the most recent National Draft, or the pick of the mini-draft talent.
Last season, teenage sensations Jaeger O’Meara and Brad Crouch were able to be selected by fantasy coaches for under $110,000. However a change in the pricing structure for new rookies, including adding a further premium for the top draft selections, means we need to be more selective with the players we include in these final slots.
The following group is a mix of raw, untested talent and a collection of slightly older players who have not yet blossomed at the top level.
As always with these rookies, we’re looking for an increase in price. Their potential as cash cows is our first concern and we’ll look to upgrade these guys throughout the year to bring in the AFL’s best.
