The North Melbourne Football Club is pleased to welcome the City of Wyndham as the latest partner for its community arm The Huddle.

North CEO Carl Dilena said the partnership between The Huddle and the City of Wyndham has highly valuable community impact.

“The City of Wyndham has been a great supporter of us and our community endeavours through The Huddle,” Dilena said.

“We have a strong connection in the Wyndham area through our co-VFL alignment with the Werribee Tigers and our fantastic schools programs that we deliver every week in the region.

“This generous funding from the City of Wyndham will enable us to continue delivering our programs with excellence to ensure more young people are engaged in sport to keep active, healthy and have fun with their friends.”

Wyndham Councillor Michelle Wharrie said the funding was important for impacting the region through sport.

“Funding to North Melbourne Football Club’s The Huddle will provide the opportunity for young people across Wyndham to participate in the successful Learning and Life Program,” Councillor Wharrie said.

“The program builds leadership and sporting skills amongst younger residents through a range of AFL clinics, competitions and educational events.”

North Melbourne has built a strong and successful relationship across all schools in the Wyndham region through Huddle and football, and nutrition programs, delivered in partnership with the Werribee Tigers Football Club, AFL Victoria, and SEDA. The Huddle was established in 2010 to improve social cohesion by systematically addressing the causes of disengagement among young people, The Huddle’s programs target youths from migrant and refugee backgrounds, in North Melbourne, Flemington, Kensington, West Melbourne and the City of Wyndham as well as the City of Hume and the City of Ballarat.
