Hard-luck Kangaroo Ed Vickers-Willis' comeback from a major knee injury has suffered a setback, with the defender dislocating a toe at training on Tuesday.
Vickers-Willis was completing full training after not playing since sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee against Fremantle in their season opener last year.
There was teammate concern at the sight of Vickers-Willis again hobbling off the track under the aid of two trainers, with Jared Polec and Jamie Macmillan among those to check on his status.
Another injury-cursed Roo, Taylor Garner, also exited training after feeling some hamstring tightness, while key forward Nick Larkey is nursing a sore left foot and trained inside on Tuesday.
Larkey is still in contention to face Greater Western Sydney at Giants Stadium on June 14.
In better news, Paul Ahern (hamstring) and Kyron Hayden (Achilles) took part in all of the contact training, while captain Jack Ziebell (knee) is good to go.
Luke Davies-Uniacke (groin) also continued his recovery, running laps and doing some slow change-of-direction work off to the side.
Vickers-Willis underwent an arthroscopy to repair some issues in his injured knee in November after feeling some discomfort but was otherwise tracking well.
He had a preliminary assessment while still on the ground on Tuesday, where the toe problem was diagnosed, before leaving for a scan.
Vickers-Willis has played only 15 games, and never more than seven in a season, since being the No.36 selection in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.
He is out of contract at season's end but is a popular figure at Arden Street and has looked assured at AFL level whenever he's appeared.
