Scans on Saturday indicated a torn pectoral muscle, sustained during the second quarter of the Kangaroos' loss to Geelong on Friday night.
The injury occurred as Tippett attempted to tackle his opponent. He left the ground immediately and took no further part in the game, substituted at half time.
