Dump ump reports: Scott
Brad Scott says reports should be left up to the match review panel
He argued that the match review panel should have all the power in citing incidents.
Scott was quizzed on Channel Seven’s Game Day over the report made against Geelong's James Podsiadly for striking Fremantle’s Nick Suban on Saturday night.
"I'm really strong on this, I don't know why we bother making game-day reports any more," he said.
"We had a player reported [Sam Wright for charging Essendon’s Brent Stanton] during [last night’s] game; umpires have got too hard a job to worry about that sort of stuff.
"That's why we have got a match review panel in place. They make the calls.
"I just think take it completely out of the umpires' hands. If they make a mistake like it appears they may have made there (with Podsiadly), then they pay a 50m penalty, which probably wasn't there, which costs you game day."
