On Triple M’s Rush Hour, James Brayshaw detailed the process which went into landing Walsh after his departure from Collingwood.
“We (North Melbourne), along with about five other clubs, inquired as to whether he had any interest in working in football again.
“The answer to that was ‘No’. He’d had enough and wanted out to explore other things.
“But he and Brad had a great relationship at Collingwood and they worked on saying to him (Walsh) that he’ll be great for us and eventually he turned around. So we’re very pleased.”
Major journalists from The Age, Herald Sun and AFL.com.au were almost universal with their praise.
Geoff Walsh back as footy director great get by @NorthKangaroos. Will have trouble recognising Arden St, looks bit better than when he left!

However, it wasn’t just the journalists who deemed the return of Walsh a good move. Brent Harvey is looking forward to seeing an old friend once more.
Wow. Great to have Geoff Walsh back at the Nmfc. Great operator and great bloke! #welcomback
