AFL Fantasy is back for another season, and the team at Footy Prophet will again be supplying NMFC.com.au with premium fantasy analysis and tips for the 2015 season.

Despite going down to the Swans by 16 points North Melbourne player’s had a reasonable night at the office in terms of their fantasy scoring.

The highlight of the evening was Todd Goldstein’s dominant performance as the big man collected 37 hit-outs, along with 17 disposals, seven marks and six tackles for a big fantasy score of 122.

Eleven rounds into the season he’s one of the best fantasy rucks going around with a season average of 103 points per game, behind only Stefan Martin on 105, and has three triple figure scores in a row over the past few weeks.

Brent Harvey also put in a good performance with 22 disposals and a goal leading him to a solid 94 fantasy points, but could’ve scored a bit more and been a match-winner for the Roos with a bit of better luck in front of goal as he kicked 1.3 for the night.

Also suffering from a bit of inaccuracy was Jack Ziebell who managed just three behinds with his shots on goal, however between 19 disposals and five tackles he still worked his way up to a solid 86 fantasy points for the night.

Ben Cunnington was in great form with 23 disposals, 10 clearances and seven tackles on his way to a great score of 91, while Lachie Hansen stepped up with a number of important marks in defense. He finished with 10 marks and 83 fantasy points for the night.

The skipper Andrew Swallow had a typically productive game with 19 disposals, five clearances and 11 tackles, but finished on a slim total of 79 points due to having recorded six frees against.

On what was ultimately a disappointing night for North fans though one of highlights was the impact that youngster Trent Dumont was able to have when he came on after wearing the green sub vest to start the game.

In a little over a quarter of footy Dumont gathered seven disposals, won two clearances, laid two tackles, and kicked a big time goal late in the fourth to put North within two goals of the lead.

Unfortunately a lack of finishing power got the better of the Roos, and the chance at an upset win slipped away.

Around the Grounds

As always the bye rounds left us scrambling for available players but despite being down to 2/3rds of the normal action we still saw some huge fantasy performances this week.

Brent Stanton walked away with the honours for highest score of the week with a big 153 against the Eagles.

The Bombers also saw big scores from Zach Merrett (137), Dyson Heppell (132) and Jobe Watson (119) but it didn’t help their cause too much as they still fell to the Eagles by 50 points.

Taylor Adams was the next best, collecting 146 for Collingwood against his old side Greater Western Sydney. The Magpies got the win and Adams recorded a new career-best fantasy score.

Leigh Montagna was the third and final player to crack the 140 mark for the week with a busy game against Melbourne.

He did plenty before the last minute but his performance will be remembered for his last-gasp goal that won the match for the Saints.
