Todd Goldstein continued his outstanding season on Saturday night against the Swans, and there’s little wonder the coaches were quick to recognise his contribution.

The ruckman was by far the dominant big man on the ground despite the Roos’ defeat, amassing 17 disposals (11 contested), seven marks, six tackles and 37 hit-outs.

Goldstein polled in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year for the fifth time in 2014, registering eight votes as the equal best player on the ground, alongside Sydney’s Luke Parker.

It’s been a big year for the number 22. He sits second in the league for hit-outs, with an average of 40 a game, and is now seventh overall in the coaches’ voting.

Swans’ players shared the remainder of the votes from the Etihad Stadium clash.
