Port Adelaide has vowed not to let the emotion of Saturday’s showdown win have an impact on its preparations for Round 3.

Ken Hinkley’s team had the football world talking after a stunning 55-point win against Adelaide, but the players aren’t getting ahead of themselves.

"That was probably up there as one of the best minor round games I've played in,” midfielder Brett Ebert said.

"Internally we've made sure we've been able to celebrate it, enjoy the game, make sure we review it properly and now we start moving onto what's next and how we're going to beat the Kangaroos.

"We're making sure there's not going to be any let-down."

The Power have made a remarkable rise in the past 12 months, highlighted by a memorable finals campaign in 2013.

An easy-beats only a few seasons ago, they are now one of the fittest, most highly respected sides in the competition.

"You've got to make sure you're going in believing you can do it because otherwise you're going to be struggling from the start," Ebert added.

"Over last year and this year the confidence within the group has grown a lot.

"So when [we] come up against any team you do go into a game feeling confident and [believing] in our game style as well."

Port will go into Sunday’s clash against North boasting good form at Etihad Stadium, a 33-point Round 1 victory against the Blues its latest scalp.

But the Kangaroos hold the recent advantage at the venue between the two sides, winning every match since 2005.
