North Melbourne can confirm Ed Vickers-Willis has reinjured the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The defender slid into the point-post in the final quarter at the SCG and had to be helped from the ground.
It’s the same knee he injured last season.
“Ed will visit a specialist this week,” North GM football Cameron Joyce told North Media.
“We really feel for Ed because he was putting together a truly solid season down back, despite being only 14 games into his AFL career.
“He’s a diligent worker and a genuine professional, and we have no doubt that he will bounce back from this.”
Joyce said North will release more information about the injury as it comes to hand.
“We won’t be in a position to provide a timeframe for Ed’s recovery or his expected return until we have all the information and advice later in the week.”
