Midfielder Jack Ziebell says North Melbourne is ready to “attack Richmond with everything we’ve got”.

Ziebell was taken from the field after receiving a cut above his left eye late in Friday’s loss to the Tigers, but the vice-captain says his wounds are only superficial.

“I’m feeling really good, it looks a lot worse than it is,” Ziebell told NMFC.com.au.

“I had scans on Saturday and it was all clear, no fractures or anything. A little bit of colour there, it will probably improve my look a little bit.”

With a nine day break between games, Ziebell said North is ready for another tight tussle, and he expects to be running out onto the MCG with the rest of the squad at 3pm on Sunday.

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world. We’re super excited to get out there on Sunday,” he said.

“We’ve got a massive week on the training track to prepare and make sure we get everything sorted there and attack Richmond with everything we’ve got.

“It’s a massive game for the footy club and hopefully there is a big crowd there at the ‘G and we can play really well and hopefully continue our season.”

The 24-year-old said there were plenty of positives to take from Friday’s encounter before a rematch with Richmond to kick off the Roos finals campaign.

“The pressure we applied on them was really consistent over the first half and it’s going to take four quarters of that effort to beat the Tiges on the weekend, so hopefully we can bring that.”

Ziebell also showered praise on 19-year-old Kayne Turner, after the youngster suffered a heavy knock late in the last quarter.

“He’s one of the littlest blokes on the field but plays with the biggest heart. We love playing with Kayne, love him in the team," he added.

“Speaking to him today, yesterday and the day before he’s pulled up really well. Hopefully he’s every chance to play this week because we love him when he’s out there: his chase, his pressure and his harassment, we know he’s going to throw himself in every time.”

North Melbourne will hold an open training session this Saturday (September 12, 2015) at Arden Street from 11.15am-12.00pm.
