Brent Harvey is set to break the AFL games record in front of a home crowd in 2016.
The AFL fixture has been kind to ‘Boomer’ in 2016, after his 400th was played away from home in Brisbane in 2015.
If all goes to plan for one of the game’s most durable players, Harvey will equal Michael Tuck’s 426 game record against the Pies at Etihad Stadium before playing in a record breaking game 427 against the Saints in Round 19 at Etihad Stadium.
Should he miss a game or two, Harvey could also create history against the Bulldogs at Etihad in Round 20, or against the Hawks at the home of football, the MCG, in Round 21.
And if Harvey misses three games, he’ll play in the record breaking match in Hobart against the Swans in what will still be a North home game.
No matter what happens, it’s set to be an exciting season for the 37-year-old who will kick off the season in game 410 against the Crows.
