North Melbourne is embracing the burden of expectation going into the finals, with anything less than a grand final win considered a failure.
The Kangaroos completed their final training session at Arden Street on Saturday ahead of their elimination final against Richmond, and key forward Ben Brown is confident his side is primed for a strong showing in September.
"We want to go all the way to the grand final, so if we don't win the grand final then that's a failure to us," Brown said.
After missing two matches with a foot injury, Lindsay Thomas moved well in a one-hour session and is set to boost the Kangaroos forward line.
"A guy of his experience zipping around at our feet, he's exactly what we want in our forward line," Brown said.
"It's great to have him out there and I'm sure he'll have an impact. He's a big finals player."
Brown, who announced a two-year contract extension on Saturday, also backed teammate Drew Petrie to rebound from a quiet game against the Tigers in round 23.
With 'tunnelling' a hot topic this week, he said the Kangaroos forwards were prepared for any tactics used by the Tigers defenders, who held Petrie to one goal last week.
"We're talked about ways to beat Alex Rance and Troy Chaplin, all these guys are really experienced and good defenders," Brown said.
"We're going to have to be really on our game to get them tomorrow.
"(Tunnelling) is something we've had to deal with all year. It's body spoiling, our defenders do that too, so it's nothing new."
