North Melbourne Football Club board members Julie Laycock and Carl Dilena have been re-elected unopposed at Wednesday night's AGM held at the Sofitel.

Mr Dilena has been CEO & Managing Director at the club since 2013 and sat on the board since 2007, while Laycock was elected to the Kangaroos board in September 2011.

Mr Dilena, a former North Melbourne & Fitzroy player, has extensive business experience, including time as a senior partner at KPMG.

“It’s an exciting time for everyone involved at the Kangaroos, from the board, to the players, coaches and staff and of course our loyal members and fans,” Mr Dilena said.

“We are really excited about where the club is at both on and off the field and it’s an honour to continue as CEO and Managing Director.

Since 2005, Ms Laycock has held the position of Head of Marketing for 7-Eleven Stores Pty Ltd, Australia’s third largest private company, the number one convenience store and the biggest independent fuel retailer.

Chairman James Brayshaw praised the work of fellow board member, Mark Brayshaw, who has stepped down to focus on his role as CEO of the AFL Coaches Association.

“Mark was an unbelievably valuable director for the club over a long and challenging period of time,” he said.

“His professionalism and guidance has helped strengthen and grow the North Melbourne brand and off-field position. His input will be greatly missed.”

Mr Dilena also thanked Mark for his dedication to the club.

“Mark has given a lot to this club and was a big contributor since he joined the board in 2007,” he said.

“There were many great achievements during his time on the board, which included the redevelopment of our state-of-the-art facilities at Arden St. He leaves with the club in a strong position both on and off the track and we all thank him for his efforts.”
