Jamie Macmillan is all but certain to line up against Sydney this Saturday night.
The defender rolled his ankle during Sunday’s win over the Tigers, and despite being sore on the day, will continue to train with his teammates in the lead-up to Saturday’s semi-final in Sydney.
North Director of Football Geoff Walsh said the 23-year-old had pulled up well in the days following the club’s Elimination Final win.
“Jamie will be monitored throughout the week, but we are expecting him to train fully with the rest of the squad and will be available to travel to Sydney,” Walsh told NMFC.com.au.
Walsh also confirmed North rookie Will Fordham would take no further part in the season, with the 19-year-old going under the knife on Tuesday.
“Will has today gone in for an arthroscope on his ankle to make sure he is ready to go in 2016 and get a full pre-season under his belt,” Walsh said.
The Roos re-signed Fordham in August for a further year on the rookie list after he impressed during his time with VFL affiliate Werribee.
Meanwhile, Daniel Wells will again be given every chance to prove his fitness for the clash with the Swans, according to Walsh.
“Daniel continues to improve and we will work with him closely and see how he gets through training before making any decisions on his availability in match committee later this week," he said.
As reported last week, forward Kayne Turner is also in contention for a return against the Swans after his heavy knock against the Tigers in Round 23, with club medical staff giving him the all-clear.
