Jamie Macmillan could make his return against Fremantle on Sunday.

North Melbourne Director of Football Geoff Walsh said the defender was tracking well in his rehab from a hamstring injury, suffered during North’s win over Essendon in Round 17.

“All indications are Jamie will be available for selection on Sunday,” Walsh told NMFC.com.au.

“We’ll put him through his paces at our main skills session on Thursday to make sure he’s ready to return, before deciding whether or not to declare him available for selection.”

North’s injury list continues to shrink, with Daniel Wells returning to action last weekend via the VFL. He will line up for Werribee’s reserves on Saturday in a bid to further build up his fitness for a potential return to the AFL in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, ruckman Daniel Currie could make his return for Werribee this weekend, after a foot injury kept him sidelined for the past month.

“He’s increased his running loads and has been building strongly towards a return,” Walsh said.

“Like Jamie, we’ll have to monitor him throughout the week and see how he pulls up after our main session on Thursday before our medical team give him the final tick of approval to play some game time in the VFL.”
