Sabir takes centre stage
Sabir Mohammad was the envy of his friends on the weekend when he presented a Premiership Medal.
A regular participant at the North Auskick centre during the year, Sabir had the time of his life during a weekend of action packed activity.
Earlier in the week Sabir attended the Auskicker of the Year Awards Dinner at the MCG where he was presented with his official Auskicker of the Year nominee playing jumper by Joel Selwood.
On Friday, he marched alongside fellow Auskickers and members of the Grand Final sides in Hawthorn and Fremantle, through the streets of Melbourne in the Grand Final Parade.
Saturday was undoubtedly the highlight when Sabir played Auskick on the MCG before the start of the big game.
After the match, along with the other 21 Auskicker of the Year nominees, he presented the Hawthorn players with their medals.
“It was so exciting to play in front of so many people on the MCG and getting to present a premiership medal with all my friends and family watching on TV was really cool too,” Sabir said.
Sabir was nominated as one of the Auskicker’s of the Year in Round 17 when North Melbourne faced Carlton.
At half time of the game, Matthew Richardson interviewed Sabir in an entertaining chat.
