James Brayshaw says North has ‘no excuses’ for it’s dismal performance against Adelaide on Sunday.
The Roos were comprehensively beaten by 77 points at Adelaide Oval in one of the club’s most disappointing losses in recent history.
“I don’t have the answer…they (the football department) couldn’t have been happier with the preparation. The selected team was very good… there’s not one excuse around availability or fitness of the 22 playing so you haven’t got any wriggle-room there,” Brayshaw said on Triple M.
“All the indicators that show you’re having a crack were horrific.”

The chairman backed up head coach Brad Scott’s assessment of the match.
“If you had Brad Scott on the line right now he’d say we don’t have one single excuse for what happened.
“He used the words ‘insipid’ and ‘embarrassing’ in his presser and you can’t argue with that.”

Instead of burrowing into the detail of the defeat, Brayshaw said he was more concerned with the off-field impact it would have on the club.
“I sat in the (Virgin) lounge on the way home with this beautiful family sitting in front of me with their kids with the North Melbourne gear on. They’d flown all the way over to watch that.
“When you’re the chairman, you take a much more helicopter view of things. …I concern myself with the impact it has on membership, with the impact it has on the attendance for this week’s game and the impact it has on the commercial guy’s ability to do their job.”
North next plays Brisbane on Sunday at Etihad Stadium and Brayshaw said he expected the players to bounce back aggressively.
“If you’re going to be a genuinely good side, you don’t put that up in the first place.”
