Sam Wright says teammate Majak Daw’s return to football is ‘incredible’.
Daw played his first game of the season on Sunday in the VFL, with a huge crowd turning out at Arden Street to welcome back the North Melbourne star.
“It’s been amazing really, just to watch what he’s gone through,” Wright told Channel 7 after the game.
“It’s actually incredible. Seeing him in hospital after everything happened, you question yourself whether he was going to get back.
“The steps were small … trying to walk again. The way he’s built himself up, I don’t know if anyone else would have been able to do it.
“It’s been so good for him, and we’re just all so proud.”
Daw played around 20 minutes in the first quarter, as planned, with his team going on to celebrate a big win over Sandringham.
Comeback complete. A successful return for @MajakDaw in the VFL. He has completed his planed load for the day.
