Collingwood utility Tyson Goldsack will be available to play in Sunday’s clash against North Melbourne after getting through a VFL practice match unscathed.

The 25-year old underwent ankle surgery during the off-season, and has played three matches in as many weeks to prove his fitness leading into Round 1.

“Coming off that ankle, I played against Brisbane and only played probably about 60 per cent so only got a half game there,” Goldsack told the club’s website.

“I played against Geelong last week and got 75 per cent, so I was just looking to get a little bit more run in the legs and get the fitness up.

"Physically I'll be putting my hand up, there's no doubt about that. It's just whether or not they pick me. Fingers are crossed."

Goldsack joins ruckman Darren Jolly (back) in signalling his intention to play in the Magpies’ season opener, while Ben Reid (knee) and Dale Thomas (ankle) will need to get through training this week to give themselves a chance of lining up.
