Mitchell Hibberd may not have been a Kangaroo if it wasn’t for Daniel Wells.
As a young footballer, Hibberd wrote to the star midfielder and when Wells responded, it left a lasting impression.
“I don’t know what actually made me write to him,” Hibberd told NMFC.com.au.
“It’s something that was put up on my wall straight away when he sent back.”
“I was probably only seven or eight when I wrote it. I was pretty happy telling him how many goals I’d kicked, it’s a good memory really.
“It’s a bit funny now, Wellsy’s a teammate. Lindsay (Thomas) always stirs me up a bit about it.”
