North Melbourne has set its sights on reaching 40,000 members before Round 1.
The club has just passed the 35,000-member mark and CEO Carl Dilena believes the aggressive target is achievable before the opening match against the Crows on March 26.
"We've seen a great response from our members this pre-season who believe we are on track for a big 2016," Dilena said.
"Record numbers have already signed on, with our tally at its highest point in the club's history for this time of year.

"We want to carry that momentum into our match against Adelaide on Easter Saturday and hit the 40,000 mark."
Dilena has called on all North supporters to sign up before the first bounce, including more than 10,000 lapsed members from last year.
“If we were able to entice the majority of those un-renewed members back on board, we’d have set a new club record already.
“After two successive preliminary finals and a team primed for bigger and better things this year, why wouldn’t you want to join and be a part of it?”
All levels of membership continue to see a rise, including those signing up in Tasmania. The Apple Isle is set for three huge blockbusters this season, including the first ever Friday night match in the state.
Incredibly there are still more than 10,000 members from 2015 yet to renew.
At the first bounce last year, the Roos were sitting at just over 35,000 members, so a target of 40,000 would represent a remarkable 14 per cent increase.
"It wasn’t that long ago that people were saying we'd never get 40,000 members," Dilena said.
"We’ve surpassed that milestone two years running now and we're confident that with continued success on and off field, we'll be able to welcome our 50,000th member in the near future."
