North Melbourne has selected 'The Huddle' as the new name of the Learning and Life Centre classroom.

'The Huddle' was the club's overwhelming favourite among nearly 1000 entries into the 'name the classroom' competition, which was designed to identify a catchy and clever name representative of the club and the community.

Alison Smith of Chelsea chose the name and will receive a party at Intencity for 20 people, a pair of X-Blades football boots, a photo with the North Melbourne squad and a jumper signed by the entire team.

James Demetriou, Executive Director of the Learning and Life Centre, said that 'The Huddle' was a perfect fit for the room.

"We wanted a name that represented what the classroom will be; an inclusive, welcoming, inspiring place where people will come to work together," Demetriou told kangaroos.com.au.

‘The Huddle’ will host thousands of local students and adults from all walks of life each year and will become a hub for the local community.

"’The Huddle’ is synonymous with football and our players, who will be a big part of the community and education programs. I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to enter the competition and big congratulations must go to Alison for winning with 'The Huddle'."

A logo for 'The Huddle' is under development and will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
