The NAB AFL Trade Period continues to provide headlines after another intriguing day of player-movement news and speculation.
On Tuesday, North Melbourne veteran Daniel Wells joined Collingwood on a lucrative three-year deal, former Giants forward Cam McCarthy is finally a Docker after switching clubs in a bumper deal and Richmond signalled its interest in securing Cat Josh Caddy as part of a trade for veteran Tiger Brett Deledio.
AFL.com.au's Trade Winds will provide a round-up of the latest action every morning until the end of the Trade Period on Thursday, October 20.
Riewoldt rejects Essendon approach
Essendon coach John Worsfold made private contact with Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt only for the Tiger to reinforce his commitment to stay at Tigerland, the Herald Sun reports.
The Dons had sensed the 27-year-old spearhead might be convinced to start afresh at Bomberland following trade talks between the clubs and private discussions between Riewoldt and friend, Essendon veteran Brendon Goddard.
However, a subsequent meeting between Riewoldt and Tigers coach Damien Hardwick convinced the dual Coleman medallist his future was at Punt Road.
Pick 13 and Crow Cameron for Gibbs?
If Carlton can't persuade wantaway star Bryce Gibbs to remain at Ikon Park, the Blues will demand speedy Crow Charlie Cameron and the No. 13 pick, The Age reports.
Meanwhile, the Herald Sun reports that Carlton will only relent on trading Gibbs if it can land a talented midfielder in the trade period.
It reported Adelaide's Brad Crouch could also be part of a Gibbs trade.
Cats to get the Blues?
The Age reports that the Blues might try to fill their midfield void by asking Geelong for players such as Nakia Cockatoo or Darcy Lang in exchange for Zach Tuohy.
The Blues are not believed to be interested in enigmatic Cat Steven Motlop.
Cats rejects Tigers' Caddy push
Geelong has snubbed Richmond's request for midfielder Josh Caddy in a potential swap for Tigers star Brett Deledio, The Age reports.
The Herald Sun adds that the Cats believe they could land Deledio for nothing as an unrestricted free agent at the end of next year when he will be 30.
The Herald Sun also believes that if Deledio were to play for Geelong, he'd likely have to take a pay cut in the vicinity of $200,000 a season to squeeze into the Cats' salary cap.
Meanwhile, The Age reports that Geelong will grant forward Shane Kersten his wish of moving to Fremantle after he nominated the Dockers as his preferred destination on Tuesday.
Dogs duo close to nominating clubs
The Age reports that Bulldogs midfielders Koby Stevens and Nathan Hrovat, neither of whom played in the club's premiership side, are edging towards deciding their playing futures.
Stevens, who played 12 games this season, is understood to be favouring Essendon over St Kilda as he seeks a third club.
Hrovat, 22, who played just four AFL games this year, is firming to join either Carlton or North Melbourne.
Zac tipped to stay at Freo
The West Australian believes Fremantle ruckman Zac Clarke will recommit to the Dockers if they offer him a three-year deal.
Clarke, 26, is an unrestricted free agent and has attracted some interest from rivals, but has his sights set on becoming the Dockers' long-term No. 1 ruckman.
He played 13 games this season for a career total of 101.
