North Melbourne’s 2016 telethon was a resounding success, with 450 members signing up on Tuesday night.

It was more than a 15 percent increase on last season’s number, as the club targets 40,000 members before Round 1.

With the players working the phones, Scott Thompson emerged as the standout salesman, notching up 34 memberships.

The club's administration and football staff were also making calls on the night, with supporters urged to join ahead of next Saturday night's clash against the Crows.
