Jack Ziebell is set to captain North Melbourne for the first time, with Andrew Swallow ruled out for tomorrow night’s clash with Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium.
The Kangaroos’ leader wasn’t able to recover from a concussion, sustained after being slung to the ground in a tackle last week.
North has been hit hard by injuries with Ben Cunnington (corked thigh), Jarrad Waite (hip) and Robbie Nahas (broken finger) also sidelined.

Waite’s absence up forward provides another opportunity for Majak Daw, while Trent Dumont, Farren Ray and debutant Corey Wagner have also been named in the 22.
Nick Dal Santo (adductor) and Shaun Atley (ankle) have been included in the line-up despite being under injury clouds during the week.
Draftees Declan Mountfourd and Ryan Clarke are listed as emergencies with Joel Tippett a backup for the defenders.
