North Melbourne fans will again be able to make use of FREE shuttle buses to Blundstone Arena for each game this year.
North has partnered with RACT to provide the free royal coach for ticketholders at all three games in 2016, with buses departing from various points across the city, including several park and ride options.
RACT chief executive officer Harvey Lennon said the service was an important part of game day in Hobart.
“These services proved to be very popular last year, and helped speed up travel times for those heading to the match,” Mr Lennon said.
“Given the traffic congestion issues of recent weeks, and the road works currently underway on the eastern end of the Tasman Bridge, the bus services will be all the more important at the weekend.
“It’s an easy way to get to the ground and not have to worry about finding a park, and the best part is, it’s 100 per cent free.”
North Managing Director and CEO Carl Dilena thanked the RACT for its continued support of the free bus service.
“We are aware that these buses are an important part of ensuring fans can get to the ground in a convenient and easy way,” Mr Dilena said.
“With Friday night football in Tasmania close to a sell-out later this year, and strong ticket sales at all three Blundstone Arena matches, we know that there are going to be plenty of fans looking for the best way to get to the ground. That’s why we want to make it as hassle free as possible and these bus services will take away the pain of trying to find a park at the ground and reduce the numbers of cars on the roads.”
All Metro services will be free for ticketholders two-and-a-half hours before matches, as well as post-match.
This year, North Melbourne will again work with the Tasmanian Police and the State Government to ensure a hassle free journey for all, including having tow trucks at the base of the Tasman Bridge to ensure any breakdowns or accidents are cleared quickly.
