Port Adelaide utility Justin Westhoff is confident his team can overcome the loss of several key players against North Melbourne.

The Power will be without Brad Ebert (bruised lung), Tom Jonas (hamstring) and Nathan Krakouer (family funeral).

Ebert was the best player on the ground when the teams last met in Round 3, 2015, and will be sorely missed.

“He (Ebert) is a big one for us, but we don’t want to be taking any more risks,” Westhoff said on Thursday.

“It’s not ideal to lose some of the more experienced guys, but we’ve just got to deal with that.

“I’m sure a few young guys will come in and the other guys will get an opportunity to prove themselves … they just need to play a more flexible role within the group."

North has been hard-hit by injury in recent weeks too, with the likes of Shaun Higgins, Ben Jacobs, Sam Wright, Luke McDonald and Taylor Garner all missing from the Roos' best 22.

Mason Wood (knee) and Farren Ray (hamstring) were added to the injury list following the loss to the Eagles.

The Power have recalled Paul Stewart, Brendon Ah Chee and Sam Gray for Saturday’s clash, with Westhoff expecting a tough battle.

“It’s always a physical game, that’s what they bring and we’re up for the challenge,” he said.

“They’ve (the Kangaroos) got some great players and they are in finals contention so it’s a must-win for them, but it’s the same for us so we will be ready to go.”
