Despite a memorable win against Adelaide and several games where North was in winning positions, Ben Brown says he and his teammates are far from satisfied with the club’s start to 2017.

The Roos are 16th on the ladder after just two victories in eight games, with their percentage of 92.1 indicative of how things easily could have gone the other way.

“We’d definitely be on the lower end of the grading at the moment,” Brown said on SEN.

“We always want to win games and we haven’t played that well to start the year.

“We’ve done some good things and had some close losses, which we’ve shot ourselves in the foot a few times.

“It has been a disappointing start. When you are two and six it’s never going to be a positive grade.”

North had arguably its worst loss of the season on Sunday, falling to Sydney by 42 points.

But returning to the MCG for the first time this year, Brown and his teammates have a chance to turn the tables.

One player sure to make a huge difference is Jarrad Waite. 

“He’s a star. You train with the guy every day and you really realise what he brings to the table,” Brown added.

“His skill level is pretty incredible. When you get a guy of that stature come back into the side, we’re obviously going to be better for it.”

Waite booted six goals in the win over the Crows, before missing the clash against the Swans due to suspension.
