Port Adelaide will meet with Hawthorn on Monday to discuss a trade for contracted speedster Jarman Impey.
Impey's contract with Port runs until the end of 2018, but has opted to leave for Hawthorn, choosing them over the Western Bulldogs.
AFL.com.au reported last month Impey could be on the way out.
Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps said at Etihad Stadium on the opening morning of the NAB AFL Trade Period he would sit down with Hawthorn list manager Graham Wright.
"I'll meet with Graham Wright and Hawthorn today and we'll see where that ends up," Cripps said.
"Obviously he's a contracted player but we'll endeavour to see if we can facilitate a trade that works for Jarman, and more importantly, the football club."
Cripps said he hadn't received word from Melbourne forward Jack Watts about where he wants to play next year.
Watts, who was encouraged by the Demons to explore his options, is reportedly set to pick the Power.
"We expect an answer this week," Cripps said.
Geelong restricted free agent Steven Motlop toured Port last Friday, but Cripps said he hadn't received an update.
