Senior assistant coach Leigh Tudor says North isn’t concerned several players could be underdone for the round one clash against West Coast.
Tudor, who will take the reins as coach for the Roos' first JLT Series match against Sydney in Coffs Harbour on Sunday, is confident North’s stars will be fit and firing sooner rather than later.
"You always like to have everyone up and about, but it is what it is," he said.
"There are guys on programs that over the next week or two will be back in full training. We should have a pretty good list ready for round one."
Among those still on the comeback trail, Lachlan Hansen (corked leg) and Robbie Tarrant (back).
"Lachy is a chance this week and 'Taz' is this week (too),” Tudor said.
“Taz will be back in full training, so he might be a little bit further (advanced) but there are a lot of guys almost ready to get in too.
"Lachy just got a good corkie, then got another one. Taz is the same, he's just been a bit slow in his progression, but they're not far away."
Also looking to prove his fitness after an ankle injury, Todd Goldstein. The big man is looking likely for a return against Hawthornin a fortnight.
"He's really ramped up his preparation so hopefully 'Drummo' (North assistant coach Josh Drummond) gets him next week (for the Hawthorn game)," Tudor said.
Tudor said he expected both Ben Brown (knee) and Majak Daw (knee) to return in the latter part of the JLT Series.
With several key-position players out, he tipped ruckman Braydon Preuss, and key-position prospects Sam Durdin and Ben McKay to be in the mix for a call-up against the Swans.
