With wet conditions forecast in Hobart it’s unlikely to be a day for forwards on Saturday, but Jarrad Waite isn’t perturbed.
The veteran intends to use his experience, rain, hail or shine.
“(I) just play to the conditions, I’ve played footy for a while now and you get all types … I’m just looking forward to being out there,” the 34-year-old said.
Back in the side after a six week hiatus due to an AC joint injury, Waite knows he’ll need to play well to hold his spot in the side.
Competition for spots at Arden Street is high following Andrew Swallow and Lindsay Thomas’ recent omissions.
“It puts you on notice, no one is safe,” Waite said.
“There are a lot of players underneath that are playing some really good footy and putting a lot of pressure on senior players. It’s good for the club, because it means everyone is trying to improve.”
Waite told NMFC.com.au he trained well throughout the week and was excited about taking on the Crows at Blundstone Arena.
“They are flying, they’ve played some really good footy this year,” Waite said.
“We know what we are in for, but we’re confident we can get over the top of them, we know our best is good enough.
“I was trying pretty hard to play last week, and I’m feeling really good now.
“I feel fresh in the legs, even though it was annoying time to get injured, I’d rather have it at the start of the year, rather than the end.”
