Competition for spots will help secure North Melbourne more on-field success in the coming years according to GM Football, Cameron Joyce.
The Roos expect to retain their three ruckmen, all capable of holding down the No.1 spot in Todd Goldstein, Braydon Preuss and Majak Daw.
“It’s certainly a strength of ours with the quality of the three of them,” Joyce told Trade Radio on Tuesday morning.
“The competition for spots is the key. When we were reasonably successful not that long ago, the competition for spots was really hot and we’re trying to get back and create that again. Having those three at the footy club all vying for the number one ruck spot, but also a potential forward/ruck spot as well, it will service us pretty well.”
Joyce said with two days left in the Trade Period, there hadn’t been any interest from other teams in acquiring any of the North big men.
“We haven’t had any clubs really want to go after any of the boys or had any discussions with us about them … we know they’ll all be here in 2018 for us,” Joyce said.
