Speedy winger Kaitlyn Ashmore will undergo minor surgery on a broken little finger this afternoon, after sustaining the injury in match simulation on Sunday.
The game formed part of the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos’ training and community camp held across Tasmania last weekend.
“Kaitlyn visited a specialist and while it’s not a severe one it requires surgery,” North head of football operations Laura Kane said.
“She’ll miss the next week or so of training but the good news is we expect her to be back with the main group in the new year.”
North will make its AFLW debut in Round 1 against Carlton next year at North Hobart Oval.
