Brisbane coach Chris Fagan has identified North’s dynamic forward-line as a major threat for the visitors heading into Sunday’s clash.
The young Lions side has conceded the third most amount of points in the competition this season, and will put a large focus on defence in a bid to secure a win on the road.
“They [the Kangaroos] have got a three-pronged tall forward attack that is pretty potent,” Fagan said.
“[Ben Brown] has kicked 33 goals, but Jarrad Waite has kicked 22, and Mason Wood has come into the team in the past four weeks and kicked ten.
“Anytime you come up against North, you've got to work out how you can reduce their ability to score.
“We’ve talked about all those things this week.”
Brisbane’s key defenders are in red-hot form, with vice-captain Harris Andrews breaking the AFL record for the most spoils in a match last weekend, recording 23 against the Swans.
Fellow backman Darcy Gardiner has also been impressive, but despite both defenders’ recent performances, Fagan insists stopping North’s forwards will require a team effort.
“They’re [Andrews and Gardiner] both having their best seasons,” he said.
“They look forward to the challenge of playing on the good forwards.
“How well they can do their job very much depends on the assistance they get from their teammates.
“It depends on how well your team can defend up the field and make delivery inside 50 difficult.”
