It is arguably the most defining moment in the North Melbourne Football Club’s 150-year history; the bold rejection of the AFL's Gold Coast relocation plan in 2007.

Now, the never-before-told-story can be revealed a decade on.

The most influential figures during the fight to 'Keep North South' have finally broken their silence for a special North Media documentary to be aired on Fox Footy and NMFC.com.au.

The likes of James and Mark Brayshaw, Ron Joseph, Glenn Archer, Tim Rogers and Eugene Arocca give their version of events, while former and current AFL CEOs in Andrew Demtriou and Gillon McLachlan explain the league's plans for a 17th team.

Hear also from some of the game’s most respected journalists as Damian Barrett, Caroline Wilson and Rohan Connolly recount their coverage of the lead-up to the Shinboners' united to fight in what was a do-or-die situation.

For the first time, ‘Keeping North South’ provides an in-depth look at the political tug-of-war between a small club and the country’s biggest sporting organisation.

The full-length one-hour feature will be aired on Fox Footy from 9.00pm AEST on Tuesday, August 28 following Open Mike.
