North Melbourne’s Next Generation Academy (NGA) returns to Tasmania and Victoria with a renewed focus on developing talent and providing a well rounded off-field program.
Building on the success of the NGA in its first few years, the new-look model ensures North continues to provide the best possible development opportunities for participants.
The previously held trial days will be replaced with a comprehensive selection process conducted collaboratively between NMFC, AFL Tasmania, local leagues and clubs with the focus on strengthening the talent pool and providing development opportunities.
North reaffirms its ongoing commitment to engaging the community at grassroots level by establishing the best possible offerings.
This year has seen the club work closely with AFL Tasmania’s talent pathway system to ensure the NGA receives the best resources and opportunities.
In Victoria, North is partnering with the Western Region Football League (WRFL) and the Western Jets to broaden the NGA's reach and impact.
Off-field development is equally as important as on-field, so the multi-modular education curriculum, covering cross cultural diversity, leadership, careers and education and health and wellbeing will be rolled out to all squads.
