North Melbourne v Footscray
Sunday, August 18 – 12pm
Arden Street

North Melbourne’s VFL team will look to finish its campaign on a winning note when it takes on Footscray at home on Sunday.

The game has been moved to midday from its original start time of 2pm.

It looms as a huge task for David Loader’s team, which sits 13th with just five wins, against the third-placed Bulldogs, with 12 wins.

Talking points

- Speedster Tom McKenzie makes his long-awaited return from a back injury for the final game of the year.

McKenzie recorded the best 20 metre sprint time at the 2018 NAB AFL Draft Combine, and has been named in a back-pocket.

- Mason Wood looms as a key target in the Roos’ forward half, after being omitted from the AFL side.

Key players

North Melbourne

Mason Wood
The hard-running forward is a key inclusion in the forward half for the Roos, who have struggled for targets since Nick Larkey’s emergence at AFL level.

Alongside rookie Lachlan Hosie, the pair should provide a dangerous presence.

Footscray

Rhylee West
The son of a Bulldogs’ champion, Scott, Rhylee West enjoyed a taste at AFL level a fortnight ago.

He booted 4 goals to go with 29 disposals last week, as Footscray’s best in a big win over Essendon.
