Garry Lyon says he’s perplexed by Robbie Tarrant’s All-Australian snub.
The key-defender missed out on a spot in the squad of 40, with Harris Andrews, Jeremy McGovern, James Sicily and Daniel Talia given the nod.
“How did Robbie Tarrant not make the All-Australian squad of 40?” Lyon told SEN Breakfast.
“Is it because he’s not from a sexy club? Is there a North Melbourne person in the media that can be pushing his case?
“Has it come down to that? I think it does.”
Lyon said Talia was lucky to get in ahead of Tarrant.
“Daniel Talia has had a better year than Robbie Tarrant, has he? Robbie Tarrant had a better year than Daniel Talia,” he added.
“Daniel Talia has been a wonderful player, he’s been a fantastic player, he hasn’t been that great this year.
Tarrant averaged 15.8 disposals, 6.2 marks and 6.3 spoils per match.
