Now with the year having come to a close, the best 32 gifs will battle against each other to take out the inaugural gif of the year title.
It will all be decided by you. There will be two matchups a day, with the voting period approximately 24 hours for each one.
The full draw will be revealed at the conclusion of the first round.
Match 7
Majak Daw’s contested mark (Round 7) v Brad McKenzie’s pass (Round 6)
When Daw is on song, he can break a pack and take a quality contested mark. As North made its charge in the third quarter against Gold Coast, the key-forward jumped over multiple Suns’ defenders and made the Sherrin his own.
McKenzie’s foot skills are arguably the best at North Melbourne, and it’s no surprise he can deliver a pass like the one above.
The left-footer somehow managed to spear a 30 metre pass over the outstretched arm of none other than Aaron Sandilands – and still managed to get it to dip enough to hit Drew Petrie on the chest, in stride, without any hesitation.
Match 8
Drew Petrie fist pump (Round 6) v Lindsay Thomas candy (Round 9)
Before ‘Frank the Tank’, there was another Petrie celebration at Patersons Stadium against Fremantle. After kicking what would turn out to be the match-defining goal, Petrie’s fist pump was beautifully captured by the Channel 7 cameras.
Perhaps the best part of a dummy being sold is when everyone least expects it. So the prospect of Lindsay Thomas swinging onto his right foot in front of goal was surprising to everyone.
