The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have secured two-time All-Australian player Eilish Sheerin following a trade with Richmond.
Sheerin arrives at Arden Street while the Kangaroos send pick No.18 in the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft to Richmond.
The 32-year-old has played 32 games since joining the Tigers as a mature-age recruit in 2022 ahead of Season 7.
Sheerin earned All-Australian honours as a defender in her first two seasons at Richmond, before moving into the midfield in 2024, where she averaged 18.4 disposals and 7.4 tackles per game. She recorded her third consecutive second-place finish in the Tigers’ best and fairest, behind star Monique Conti.
"We are excited to strengthen our playing list further with the addition of Eilish," North Melbourne AFLW list manager Flynn Loft said.
"She is very competitive and impressive athletically with her run and dash away from the stoppage, matched with her strength around the ball.
"Her attributes in our system will be well suited to taking her game even further, and we look forward to officially welcoming her into the club."
The Kangaroos’ 2024 draft hand is currently picks No. 36, 42 and 72.
