North Melbourne has lodged paperwork to officially nominate father-son prospect River Stevens ahead of next month’s Telstra AFL Draft.

Playing as a small forward, Stevens has spent the past two seasons with the Geelong Falcons in the Coates Talent League and represented Vic Country in the 2024 Marsh Under-18 Championships this year.

His father Anthony, a two-time premiership player, dual Syd Barker medallist and former captain, played 292 games for North Melbourne.

The draft will be held on Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21 at Marvel Stadium, with the Telstra AFL Rookie Draft to take place on Friday, November 22.
