Two strong games from Ash Riddell in Week 5 have seen the prolific midfielder retain her position in first place for AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award voting.

Riddell was all class against Carlton on Wednesday night at Ikon Park, winning a game-high 36 possessions and tallying seven tackles in the resounding 69-point victory.

The No.7 earned nine votes, with rising midfielder Mia King close behind her, receiving eight votes after recording 26 disposals (16 contested) and eight score involvements.

Small forward Bella Eddey was another strong poller, getting off the mark with seven votes after slotting two well-taken goals from 20 touches.

Jasmine Garner (22 disposals, one goals) and Emma King (two goals) added three and two votes respectively to their tallies.

Garner was the pick of the bunch for the Kangas in their gutsy 12-point win over the Tigers in a rain-soaked Launceston on Sunday.

The star midfielder amassed 26 disposals, 12 tackles and 625 metres gained, and kicked a clutch fourth-quarter goal at UTAS Stadium, quickly making amends for a previous miss.

She polled nine votes, while Mia King (22 disposals, eight tackles) capped off a strong week with a haul of six.

Nine tackles, 23 touches and seven clearances saw Riddell receive three more votes, while Eddey (16 disposals, one goal) polled for a second straight game, earning two votes from Kangaroos coach Darren Crocker and Tigers coach Ryan Ferguson.
